Within the Faculty of Education at Enugu State University of Science and Technology, the Department of Science Education prepares the teachers, researchers and curriculum specialists who shape how science is taught across Nigeria — and publishes the scholarship that informs that work.

Our Mission
Teaching, research, and public scholarship
The Department exists to advance the quality of science teaching and learning through rigorous research, excellent teacher preparation, and the open dissemination of knowledge. We train graduates who can teach biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics and integrated science with confidence and evidence-based method.
Our research concentrates on questions that matter in African classrooms: how students build scientific understanding, how teachers can be supported in resource-constrained schools, how curriculum reform translates into practice, and how assessment shapes what is actually learned.
We publish our journals fully open access because research that cannot be read cannot be used. Every article is free to read, download and cite, from anywhere in the world, with no subscription or fee of any kind.
